"Laura Brienza has written a beautiful, if slightly uneven, play that brings up a lot of very important questions as we watch them explode in front of us…” -Big Vision Empty Wallet
"…a compelling and heartfelt new play on a subject—autism—that doesn’t get talked about much in the theatre…It’s highly recommended Fringe-fare" -nytheatre.com
"The play does a good job of balancing the complexities of autism - featuring a young woman who largely functions in society but might meltdown if the wrong brand of peanut butter is purchased. -National Autism Association

This show is a must see. A MUST SEE. This was my second time watching a production put on by Laura Brienza and she does not disappoint!! Scared of Sarah story of a married couple, Sam and Lily, who think they are unprepared to conceive a child, (despite their sturdy marital status, and career paths) and how they must cope with the fact that the may or may not give birth to a child with autism, just like Sarah. The story also has an underlying plot that deals with how hard it can be for someone to live, be around, or handle, a person with autism: Sarah.
In my opinion, with plays, it’s very hard to loose yourself, become very emotional, or even understand what the writer is trying to convey to the audience. You have to have the right skill, the right facts, the right talent to make your audience feel the meaning. Laura Brienza establishes this, very difficult style of writing, flawlessly. I was not the only one to notice! She’s been visited by Justin Bartha at this show, and Jerry Stiller at her previous play: War Zones. Playbill has recognized Scared of Sarah, as well as many other journals, websites, etc.!!
If you couldn’t catch this show, then be sure to catch her next one next summer!!! (We don’t know what it is yet, but I put all my faith in her writing, because honestly, she is extremely INSPIRING ) Next summer I’ll put up all the info earlier
